Acacia Claus
Acacia Claus began right here at Indiana University in the early 2000s, born from a simple idea: no child should go without during the holidays. What started as one chapter's commitment to their community has since grown into a tradition carried on by Acacia chapters across the country, each one adding their own local touch while holding onto the same mission. For us, Acacia Claus is more than a holiday event. It's a chance to bring the spirit of brotherhood outside our own walls and into the lives of families who need it most. Every gift wrapped, every dollar raised, and every hour spent making the holidays a little brighter for someone else reflects what Acacia has stood for since our founding: brotherhood built on service to others.
Acacia Canines
Acacia Canines is a newer addition to our chapter's philanthropy calendar, but it has quickly become one of the largest events of its kind at Indiana University. Held annually at Dunn Meadow, Acacia Canines brings hundreds of students and community members together for a full day centered on a cause almost everyone can rally behind: the wellbeing of dogs and the organizations that care for them. No other fraternity at IU has put on a philanthropy event at this scale, and that's by design. We wanted to build something that pushes past the typical philanthropy event and turns Dunn Meadow into a true campus-wide gathering, complete with music, food, games, and the community's dogs at the center of it all. As a young initiative with a big vision, Acacia Canines reflects where Acacia is headed: bold, community-focused, and unafraid to build something bigger than what's been done before.
7 Days of Service
7 Days of Service is exactly what it sounds like: seven straight days where our chapter puts brotherhood into action through service across the Bloomington community. We know how to raise money, but we've learned that impact multiplies when you get your hands dirty alongside the people and organizations you're serving. That's the philosophy behind this week. Rather than writing a check and calling it done, our brothers show up in person, day after day, working directly with multiple organizations across Bloomington rather than putting all our energy behind just one cause. From hands-on volunteer work to fundraising efforts, 7 Days of Service pushes our chapter to give more of our time and energy than a typical philanthropy calendar requires, and that's the point. For us, it's a week that reflects a much bigger commitment: showing up for our community consistently, in ways that go beyond a donation.
